During the communication process, Mr. Chen Zhongwei introduced the HMI team's journey from electron guns to gradually mastering the entire process of image processing, deeply researching defect detection and imaging mechanisms of electron beams in semiconductors, under the theme of 'pragmatism'. Through relentless efforts, they successfully entered the semiconductor industry and reached the pinnacle of semiconductor electron beam detection equipment. As one of the founders of HMI, he discussed careers, challenges, and life experiences with everyone through personal experiences and successful cases, encouraging young researchers to cherish opportunities, promote a spirit of hard work and innovation, and strive to contribute to the development of detection technology in the life sciences field.

Mr. Chen Zhongwei particularly pointed out that the company should fully focus on an innovation-driven development strategy, actively promoting technological innovation and progress. He encouraged employees to liberate their thoughts, break through self-imposed limitations, enhance their business capabilities, actively learn advanced intelligent manufacturing experiences, participate in relevant professional conferences, keep pace with the era of intelligence, and lay a solid foundation for the company's long-term development. He also proposed the development goal of 'aspiring to break global technological bottlenecks and create a Chinese national electron microscope brand.'

[Introduction to Mr. Chen Zhongwei]

Mr. Chen Zhongwei graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing with a degree in electrical engineering in 1962. From 1968 to 1978, he worked as an external electrician and machine tool electrical technician at Qinghai Second Machine Tool Factory and was responsible for the computing center of Qinghai Science and Technology Commission. From 1978 to 1981, he studied for a master's degree at Shandong University of Technology's electron beam exposure system laboratory, during which he was the first internationally to propose the concept of oscillating lens (SOL) in scanning electron microscope composite deflection systems. In 1984, he was recruited as a foreign scientist by the UK Science and Engineering Research Council and conducted research on large scanning fields for electron beam exposure systems at Cambridge University's Microelectronics Research Center. In 1990, he obtained his PhD from Cambridge University and became Chief Scientist at Cambridge Instruments that same year. From 1990 to 1998, he worked as a senior director engineer at KLA Instruments in the United States, developing electron beam detection systems. After 1998, he co-founded HMI (Hermes-Microvision Inc), serving as General Manager of HMI Company, which went public on May 21, 2012, in Taiwan—making it the world's first semiconductor equipment company led by Chinese.
