Looking back, on a certain day in 2000, Dr. Fang Wei, who was working at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, suddenly had a thought - "It's too hot here; I should move to a place with better weather." At that moment, he coincidentally met Mr. Chen Zhongwei, one of the founders of Hermes-Microvision Inc. (HMI), who was visiting clients. The two hit it off immediately. Thus, Dr. Fang sold his house, packed all his furniture into a container, moved to the United States, and dedicated himself to HMI, starting an inseparable relationship with electron microscopy.

From November 8 to 11, 2024, the Jiangsu Province Electron Microscopy Academic Exchange Conference was held at Nantong University, attended by nearly a hundred experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions both within and outside the province. The conference focused on academic reports related to the application of transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy (including scanning tunneling microscopy, atomic force microscopy, etc.), laser confocal microscopy, microbeam analysis, and other techniques in various fields such as materials, chemical engineering, biology, medicine, agriculture and forestry, and environmental science.
